First Comic Book On Cancer

BENGALURU: Neelam Kumar, a cancer survivor, is on the verge of getting funds from mega film star Amitabh Bachchan and businessman Ratan Tata, to come out with a comic book, which would share inspirational stories of survivors, who triumphed over the dreaded disease.

"I have written seven books. Each book is helping survivors and care-givers. In fact, after the success of my book, Mr Amitabh Bachchan and Mr Ratan Tata - they said they will fund my next two books," she told PTI at Self V, a unique campaign where cancer survivors tell their successful stories of overcoming the disease.

"It is going to be the first comic book on cancer, which is due for publication," she said.

"Self V" was organised by Pink Hope Cancer Patient Support Group along with HCG (Healthcare Global Enterprises Limited), which is India's largest provider of cancer care, with a network of comprehensive cancer centers spread across the country.

"Self V" is a platform where survivors from across the country participate and share their stories of hope and inspiration.

Cancer survivors are urged to take a self-video of up to 60 seconds duration, capturing the story of their struggle and conquest over cancer. The videos are then uploaded in Facebook in Self V website for people to watch and get inspired by their survival stories.

Neelam thanked cancer for changing her outlook towards the life and making her pen even more stronger, as she is an author of seven books.

"I have to thank cancer for coming into life because it completely changed my outlook and my compassion became deeper and my perspective became wider, and since I am a writer my pen became stronger," she said.

"Why I thank cancer is, because I am a winner. I am a face of victory for many people who are going through it," she said.

Neelam said each book that she has written  helped survivors and care-givers.

She said she wants her books to get translated into various languages so that the inspirational story of cancer survivor like her reaches to the rural masses.

"My aim is to reach out to rural masses. Since I am a writer and an author, I would like my book on cancer to be translated into many Indian languages. Doctors can only cure, but books give hope and happiness," she said.

However, translation work requires a lot of fund, she said.

Amar Bhaskar, another cancer survivor, said after coming out of the woes of cancer twice, in 2010, he decided to give back to cancer survivors and patients by forming a support group to an organisation.

Another cancer survivor, Urmi Sabnis, said she offers memographies on International Women's Day and Mother's Day, at a very nominal rate, in order to spread awareness, telling people cancer could be overcome.

People with no acknowledgement of ATM exists

                                          ERITREA COUNTRY

Eritrea is a northeast African country.President Isaias Afewerki has governed the East African nation for 22 years, and the country has never held elections since gaining independence from Ethiopia in 1993. It remains as a one-man dictatorship under President Isaias Afewerki. It has no legislature, no independent civil society organizations or media outlets, and no independent judiciary. National election and presidential election have  held in this country since 1993.
ECONOMY:80% of workforce are employed in agriculture.

The government restricts religious freedoms, banning all but four groups. There is no room for freely reported news and the media. The government has held a monopoly over broadcasting since independence. The people who make reviews about government are sentenced severely sometimes it may end up in death. The few privately-owned newspapers were closed in 2001 as part of a crackdown on the opposition. The government operates two channel with one London based satellite station.
One of the most of devastating findings of the Eritrea’s onerous system is compulsory military service to the youths of the country which can be classified as enslavement, another crime against humanity. Most able-bodied men and women in Eritrea are forced to perform national service, which often lasts for the duration of a person’s working life and commonly entails sexual violence, torture, and other harsh conditions. So many people tend to migrate to other countries by walking which led them to dead in the mid of travel.Because they need to cross Sahara dessert and The Mediterranean Sea to reach Europe.

LACK OF FREEDOM AND INDEPENDENCE!!!

  1. SIM cards are considered as a gold particle because it is not easy to buy and use a SIM card over there.Only the 'ERITAL' network provides telecommunication service and it is owned by the government which provides bad service. It cannot be used for internet connection
  2. Only through WIFI the people connects to internet. The separate VPN access is provided by the government for using social media platforms such as facebook, twitter.More than 1 percent area uses internet connection in the country. And till now there exists public telephone exchange for communication.
  3. Even the rule is fixed for taking money from the people's own bank account. However the people can hold money up to 1 crore in their bank account. But they can withdraw only 5000 nakfa (rupees) per day except for marriage function.
  4. ATM service is not available in this country.
  5. It has only one alcohol manufacturing country which adds on that a person can have only 2 beer per day.
  6. No passport is provided for young people until the military service is done.So there exists illegal migration between neighboring countries such as Ethiopia and Sudan.
  7. Conscription(i.e.if you are able to fight you must fight)it can last until the age of 40.
